Inaugurated in 2001, Kabale University is a private institution, licensed by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) (Licence No. U1.PL.003). The first forty-two students were admitted in 2002. Currently, the student population has risen to over 3000 persons.
Kabale University is unique in its origin. It is a secular community-founded and people-centred institution, which was established by a group of promoters in collaboration with the District Local Governments of Kabale, Kanungu, Kisoro and Rukungiri (consisting of the earlier administrative area known as Kigezi) who continue to support the institution.
On Monday, 27th May, 2013 Kabale University hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Sports, led by the Minister, Hon. Jessica Alupo, following a directive by H.E the President of Uganda to turn Kabale University into a Public University
Read more...The semester ended on June 13, 2013 and examination period is now over.The university is now preparing for the process of marking the end of semester examination scripts as some students also prepare for internship/industrial training.
